The AO3 is in Open Beta!!!

That means you can  sign up for an account, post fic, and bookmark and rec your favorite fic on the site!  I'm so excited, I just got my account, RDphantom, and the site looks awesome.  It works well, is easy to browse and find works, and it's easy to make bookmarks and recs.  I really like the bookmark/rec feature.  It's a great way to find good fic within a fandom.  I don't have any fic to post, but I think I'll enjoy keeping track of what I've read through my bookmarks.  I'm SO excited, it feels like we've been waiting forever for this!!

Thank you! They seem to be moving through the list at a pretty decent pace, so you may not have to wait long. Isn't is so exciting to finally get to the point where we can use it?

I'll be honest - I didn't even KNOW about it until I saw all kinds of people mentioning it on DW's 'latest' page, and then I just followed the links. XD But I've got a TON of fics/chapters and I'd love to have them all in one archive (I just hope I can get in there in time to get the username I want.)

Oh you'll love the AO3 then. You can post chapters one at a time and link them all together into a 'series', or you can post all the chapters on one page with a linkable 'chapter index' at the top of the page. Or just post in one huge block of text. I don't know what the word limit for a fic is, but it's huge. The longest I can recall off the top of my head is ~52,000, but that may not even be the limit.

They are still working on the coding, but eventually users will be able to subscribe to a work or author, so when you post new works or chapters your readers will be automatically alerted. Isn't that awesome?

Even if you don't get the username, you can always make it a pseud and post under that.

And of course they take everything, and that's a big draw too! I see you have some Sailor Moon fic, I'll have to check it out. I used to love that show, and I've never read fic for it before. See, you have new readers already ;)

Lol, I can feel your excitement!

SM has a special place in my heart too. It's the only anime I've ever watched, and I was hooked on it when I was a teenager and it was playing on US tv after school. I always get warm and fuzzy when thinking about it.

And DW is still relatively small. I think that a lot of fandom will continue to migrate over here, though, since it looks safer than LJ to me.

I love DW. :D I just wish my LJ friends had come here, so I wouldn't have to crosspost there (I left LJ two years ago and did all I could to convince them, but nothing worked, so I caved recently and began crossposting. *sigh*)

Not much commenting, you mean? Actually I'm not really sure. I've never actually gotten a whole lot of comments in my journal, even on LJ, so I'm not a very good comparison. But I expect that a lot of people still have one foot in LJ and one foot in DW, so comments probably get spread out over both.

So I read through your Sailor Moon fics and enjoyed them! I liked Uniformity and the line about the other Sailors showing their panties, that made me giggle! The roadtrip fic was fun too in the way that all roadtrips are fun and annoying and tedious all at once. Good job capturing that feeling. King of Hearts was quite sad. I hope Mamoru can find some happiness with Usagi, otherwise what use is life?
